Sponsorship
The Benson Butterfield Rodeo Committee organized its first rodeo in 2001 in collaboration with the Benson Chamber of Commerce. In May of 2002, the Benson Butterfield Rodeo Committee was incorporated as a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, which can host civic functions such as an annual community celebration.
Profits from the rodeo go to charity, and the money stays right here in Benson. More than $20,000 has been raised since the first rodeo, and an average of $2,500 is donated annually to All the King's Horses Children's Home and the San Pedro Family Resource Council.
While the profits from the rodeo go to charity, there are still expenses incurred in presenting the event. The money to pay for these expenditures comes from our very generous sponsors. Local and area businesses purchase advertising space in the rodeo program and/or sponsor the different rodeo events, which gives them the right to display their logo on the rodeo grounds during the event.
